My boyfriend isn't romantic at all... help?

i've been with my boyfriend for almost 5 years now... and the romance is just totally gone. =/ i mean, when we first got together he tried a little... but nothing major... it mostly came off corny but i loved it! and i wish he still done those sweet little things for me. i know when you are together for a long time, the romance dies down... but i mean you'd think he'd do it every now and then... for our anniversary... my birthday..etc... but no, he doesn't. I am always the one planning it... and it sucks. for once i want him to do something special for ME... is that too much to ask for? i don't want to sound like a little whiny girlfriend, but i try so hard... i buy little sexy lingerie all the time for him, and i cook big dinners for us and set the table nice... and i plan us to go out and do nice things some nights... i mean, it's just frustrating being the only one doing it. i just wish he would try to do something nice for me every once in a while. it's nice to be shown a little romance...and it's been lacking for a while now. =/ blah. yesterday i kind of snapped at him and told him "you just don't have a romantic bone in your body, do ya" and i know it ticked him off a little, i told him i was sorry and didn't mean it...but deep down i kind of did... i just don't want him mad at me. =/ ugh. anyone got any advice?
